Dr. F. Couplan says on page 405 of his Encycopedia of Edible Plants of North America says: "The fruits of the S. albus, occidentalis and orbiculatus have reportedly been eaten by Indians. They are exceedingly bitter, however, and the fruits of some species are known to be emetic, at least in the raw state. Those of? the S. albus have a rather high saponin content."

Actually, I have two FLIP videos camera, and I put a magnifying lense in front of the lens of the older one. I hold it on with an elastic. Within reason it does and shows what I? want it to do.

You have a rather good camera to pick up? that much detail up close. By the way, do all things that have a skunk oder have a garlic flavor? I know the skunk vine shown does when in a dish, expecualy when cooked, and I know a weed that used to grow near my house when I was a child did as well, and it had a very strong skunk oder. Thanks for the videos.

I bet you cook it though! I did try the sow thistle raw but it gave me an upset tummy.. it's? abundant so what's a high raw foodie to do?? I probably will try it cooked next. lol! only wonderful thing about being high raw instead of 100% is that I get to forage some plants I would not of been able to. =^-^= besides, dogma is bad, natural wild things are good =^-^=
